Being a mum or dad is an important and demanding job. If we live far away from relatives it can be lonely coping with the anxieties and problems of bringing up children.

Our toddler group is open to parents and carers with their babies or pre-school children. Whether you live locally, are in town shopping or visiting the area – you are very welcome to drop in. We have a variety of toys for the children to play with. Each week we have a special time when we tell a Bible story and sing children’s choruses. This is followed by an organised art/craft activity time. Grown-ups can join in too! Tea, coffee, cold drinks and biscuits are served mid-morning – free of charge.

Our church organises, runs and provides funding for the toddler group. However, we do ask for a modest contribution of 50p per family for each session attended. In Toddler Group we hope you will be able to make friends and share the fun as well as the difficulties of caring for young children.

We are insured but parents and carers are responsible for their own children and must stay with them.

Clarence Road Baptist Church is situated in Southend town centre. As we are very near to the High Street, travelling to us is easy – whether by foot, public transport or car. We hold our toddler group meetings in the lounge of the church. Please use the main entrance at the front of the building.

Southend Central Train Station: (Shoeburyness to Fenchurch Street Line) Situated a few minutes walk from us in adjoining Clifftown Road.

Southend Victoria Train Station: (Southend to Liverpool Street Line) Situated north of the High Street around ten minutes walk from us.

Central Bus Station: Situated in York Road on the opposite side of the High Street just five minutes walk from us.

Clarence Road is a one-way street running from Clifftown Road (north) to Alexandra Street (south). Limited free parking is available in the church car park at the rear of the building. Pay & display road-side parking is available in Clarence Road and surrounding area. A pay & display public car park is located at the south end of Clarence Road (just a short walk from the church).

Toddler Group is open each Wednesday morning from 10am – 12 noon, most weeks during school term time. Please check below for details of next holiday period:
